Delta Flight returns to MSP Airport for emergency landing

A Delta Air Lines flight en route to Amsterdam was forced to make an emergency landing at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) on Sunday. The aircraft, an Airbus A330, took off at approximately 4:20 p.m. before pilots detected an issue with the flaps. After circling the area for about an hour, the flight landed safely at 5:25 p.m. with no reported injuries among the 272 passengers on board.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed an investigation into the mechanical failure. Delta Airlines issued a statement apologizing for the inconvenience and confirmed that all passengers were rebooked on alternative flights to their intended destination.

he emergency landing at MSP follows another major aviation incident from the previous week, when a helicopter collided with an American Airlines flight attempting to land at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., resulting in the deaths of 67 people.
