Frontier Airlines is set to expand its presence at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) with the launch of a new nonstop service to Tampa International Airport (TPA). The budget carrier, known for its competitive fares, will introduce the route starting May 2, 2025, with flights operating twice weekly. By May 22, the service will increase to four times per week to accommodate the anticipated surge in summer travel demand.

Ultra-Low Fares and Expanded Benefits

To celebrate the new route, Frontier is offering introductory fares as low as $29, reinforcing its commitment to affordable travel. Josh Flyr, Vice President of Network and Operations Design at Frontier Airlines, emphasized that the initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy to provide cost-effective and convenient travel options.

“This new route will give North Carolina travelers even more access to low-cost and hassle-free air travel,” Flyr stated. “We are dedicated to expanding our network and providing exceptional value to our passengers.”

‘The New Frontier’ Initiative: Enhancing the Customer Experience

The airline is also rolling out a series of customer-focused enhancements under its ‘The New Frontier’ initiative. Among the key improvements:

  • Upfront Pricing Transparency – No hidden fees for cancellations or changes.
  • ‘For Less’ Price Guarantee – Assuring customers they receive the lowest fares available.
  • Extended Flight Credit Windows – Allowing more flexibility for rebooking.

Additionally, Frontier plans to introduce First Class seating across all flights later in 2025. This move is designed to bring a more comfortable and spacious travel experience while maintaining budget-friendly pricing.

Upgrades to Frequent Flyer Program

Frontier’s loyalty program, FrontierMiles Program, is also undergoing significant enhancements. Members will now enjoy free seat upgrades, providing a more comfortable travel experience.

Additionally, the program introduces unlimited companion travel, making flights more accessible and cost-effective for families and groups.

Another key improvement is mile pooling, which allows families to combine their miles, maximizing their rewards and making travel even more convenient.

Expanding Charlotte’s Flight Network

With the addition of this Tampa route, Frontier Airlines now serves 14 destinations from Charlotte, solidifying its role as a major low-cost carrier in the region. The airline continues to expand its footprint by increasing travel options for North Carolina residents while maintaining its promise of affordability and service enhancements.

Travelers looking to take advantage of the new route can book their flights now, with promotional fares available for a limited time.
